How is a Polar Tint franchise territory defined?

Each award is a Designated Territory mapped around the shop, typically sized by the population-and-radius cap in FDD Item 12 — the lesser of the two — so denser metros get more compact zones while suburban and rural markets get larger ones. Boundaries are set at award and written into your franchise agreement. While the agreement is in effect and you are not in default, Polar Tint will not open or franchise another Polar Tint location inside it, subject to the rights it reserves in FDD Item 12. Polar Tint awards territories to applicants who meet its then-current standards (FDD Item 1).

What the protection covers

Polar Tint will not open or franchise another Polar Tint location inside your Designated Territory while your agreement is in effect and you are not in default. The territory is not exclusive: FDD Item 12 reserves rights inside it, including franchises at non-traditional sites such as airports and hotels, and sales through other channels.

Adding locations

Each additional location needs Polar Tint's approval and its own franchise agreement, signed on its own or under a Multi-Unit Development Agreement. A single-unit agreement grants no option or right of first refusal on additional franchises (FDD Item 12).
