You, or your Managing Owner if you buy through an entity, and any Operations Manager must complete the program before you open.

What training and support do Polar Tint franchisees get?
Polar Tint franchisees get 65 hours of initial training (40 classroom + 25 on-the-job, FDD Item 11) before opening, plus the pre-opening and post-opening assistance FDD Item 11 lists. Item 11 also states that Polar Tint is not required to provide assistance beyond what it lists, so read that item in full.
Before you open, Polar Tint will:
- Grant you the right to operate at a single approved location within a Designated Territory.
- Provide site selection criteria and guidelines, and approve or disapprove your proposed site within 30 days of a complete request.
- Define your Designated Territory once you secure an approved location (FDD Item 12).
- Provide its list of approved signage, equipment, furniture, fixtures, and suppliers.
- Train you and your Operations Manager, if you have one, in the initial training program.
- Identify your business on the Polar Tint system website.
- Give you access to the Operations Manual, which FDD Item 1 describes as 158 pages across multiple sections.
- Provide the marketing assistance it deems necessary for your grand opening marketing.
After you open, Polar Tint will:
- Provide additional on-site or virtual training that it designates and requires, at its then-current Training Fee plus trainer expenses.
- Offer the initial training program to any replacement Operations Manager, for the then-current fee.
- Send updates to its standards, the Operations Manual, approved services and products, system supplies, and marketing standards.
- Set and communicate standards for marketing and promoting your business.
- Provide the names and addresses of newly approved or revoked suppliers.
- Administer the Brand Marketing Fund.
Local marketing is provided by affiliate Frostbite Marketing, which franchisees are required to use and pay through the local marketing fee (FDD Items 6 and 8), and Item 11 says Polar Tint is not required to spend any amount on advertising in your Designated Territory. Where does training take place?
Per FDD Item 11, initial training is delivered at our Henderson, NV HQ, virtually, or another location we designate, under the direction of Polar Tint's founding COO and designees, using the Operations Manual, live instruction, and handouts. FDD Item 7 estimates your travel, lodging, and meals for initial training.
Do I need window tinting experience before training?
The FDD lists no prior window tint or PPF industry-experience requirement, and Polar Tint offers franchises to applicants who meet its then-current standards and qualifications (FDD Item 1). Item 11 describes the 65 training hours as estimates: the time spent depends on your experience in the tinting and franchise industries, your job history, and your business acumen.
Whatever your background, you (or your Managing Owner, for an entity) and any Operations Manager must complete initial training to Polar Tint's satisfaction before you open (FDD Items 11 and 15).
Will Polar Tint help with my shop's grand opening?
Yes, as FDD Item 11 describes. Before opening, Polar Tint provides the marketing assistance it deems necessary for your grand opening marketing, and grand opening is one of the initial training subjects. You spend at least the grand opening marketing amount disclosed in FDD Item 5, through the required approved supplier, affiliate Frostbite Marketing, and the campaign starts at least 30 days before opening (FDD Items 5 and 8).
Initial training, including the 25 on-the-job hours, is completed before you open.
What ongoing support do franchisees receive after opening?
Polar Tint's pre-opening, opening, and ongoing support obligations are described in FDD Item 11.
After opening, Item 11 lists additional on-site or virtual training that Polar Tint may designate and require, initial training for any replacement Operations Manager, updates to the Operations Manual, approved services and products, and marketing standards, notice of newly approved or revoked suppliers, and administration of the Brand Marketing Fund. Local marketing is provided by affiliate Frostbite Marketing, which franchisees are required to use and pay through the local marketing fee (FDD Items 6 and 8).
Can my employees attend training?
FDD Item 11 covers initial training for you, or your Managing Owner if you buy through an entity, and your Operations Manager(s), who must complete it before opening. Training staff is itself one of the initial training subjects. Polar Tint may charge the additional training fee disclosed in FDD Item 6 to train newly hired managers and personnel, and a replacement Operations Manager must be trained at your cost (FDD Items 11 and 15).
What if I need refresher training later?
FDD Item 6 says Polar Tint will conduct additional or refresher training on request, as it deems necessary and as available, for the additional training fee disclosed in Item 6; for on-site training you also pay the trainers' travel, meals, and lodging. After opening, Polar Tint may also designate and require additional on-site or virtual training at its then-current Training Fee (FDD Item 11).
