Nevada window-tint regulations
Nevada tint law is set by NRS 484D.440 — not NRS 484D.435, which bars nontransparent obstructions on the windshield and windows, and not NRS 484D.450, the safety-glazing statute.
Front side windows, immediately to the right and left of the driver, must be nonreflective and allow at least 35% total light transmission through film and glazing combined, with a 7% statutory tolerance; rear side windows and the rear window carry no VLT limit if the vehicle has outside mirrors on each side giving a view of at least 200 feet to the rear.
Windshield film is permitted only on the topmost portion, with its bottom edge at least 29 inches above the undepressed driver's seat, and it may not be red or amber. A medical exemption exists: a permit may be issued on a sworn statement from the applicant's treating physician that a medical condition requires the film, plus the applicant's own sworn statement that they are the vehicle's primary driver.
