What the discount actually covers

Polar Tint's current FDD discloses a 25% reduction on the initial franchise fee disclosed in FDD Item 5 for honorably discharged veterans, active-duty service members, and active-duty first responders. The discount applies to the primary single-unit franchise fee only; additional-unit fees under a multi-unit agreement and conversion fees are disclosed separately in FDD Item 5 and fall outside the discount window. Eligible categories are defined broadly: all honorably discharged veterans of any U.S. military branch, active-duty service members, and active-duty first responders including police, fire, EMS, paramedic, and 911 dispatch personnel. The documentation requirement is a DD-214 for veterans, current active-duty orders for service members, or a department-issued ID for active first responders.

Eligible veteran-owned businesses may separately qualify for the SBA's Veterans Advantage guarantee-fee benefits under the SBA 7(a) program. Eligibility and any fee savings are determined by the SBA and the lender, not by Polar Tint, so ask your SBA lender about the program at loan-packaging time.

Polar Tint is listed on the SBA Franchise Directory, which means a lender doesn't have to independently re-review the franchise agreement before approving an SBA 7(a) loan. How to qualify and apply

For the franchise fee discount: submit a DD-214 (general or honorable discharge) for veterans, or current active-duty orders for current service members. First responders provide a department-issued ID or a letter on department letterhead confirming current employment in a qualifying role.

For SBA Veterans Advantage benefits: ask your SBA lender at loan-packaging time. Most franchise-focused SBA lenders know the program and can package the request as part of standard loan documentation; again, eligibility and any savings are set by the SBA and the lender, not by Polar Tint.
